In 2015, over 4 million horses saw a veterinarian for a lameness issue and 30% of those horses received a joint injection. The average cost of a joint injection is $530 leading to about $661 million dollars spent on joint injections each year.

In addition, the canine and human arthritis markets are extremely advantageous for future translation. In fact, we already have promising laboratory and proof-of-concept data supporting the use of BIO-PLY™ in dogs and humans. About 40% of the 70 million dogs in the United States have arthritis. Furthermore, the human anti-arthritis market is valued at over $15 billion.
